Hip-Hop & RNB Dominates 2026 Grammy Nominations.

2025 has been a great year for Hip-hop & RNB according to the Grammy voters. Artists from both genres dominate the categories with their nominations. This comes just a week after the internet was in an uproar on the internet, because no Hip-Hop songs were charting on the Billboard Hot 100 Charts.

However the Grammy noms now showcase just how dominate of a year it was for Hip-hop, Rap and RNB. For the first time since 2019, three rap albums — Lamar’s “GNX,” Clipse’s “Let God Sort ’Em Out,” and Tyler’s “CHROMAKOPIA” will compete for Album of the Year.

Nominations

Kendrick Lamar leads all artists with 9 Grammy nominations. Kdot has been nominated for all “Big Three” Categories: Album Of The Year (GNX), Song Of The Year (tv off) & Record Of The Year. This marks the third time he’s had simultaneous nominations in those big categories, and makes him and SZA the first duet partners to receive two record of the year nominations.

GNX is his fifth consecutive studio album to be nominated for album of the year, making him the first solo artist in Grammy history to do so.

Clipse, Doechii & Tyler are all nominated five times.

Rising star Leon Thomas album MUTT and hit single “Yes It Is” earned him nominations for Best New Artist, Best R&B Album, Best R&B Song, and Best R&B Performance.

Kehlani, Kaytranada, Anderson .Paak, FKA twigs, Chris Brown, Summer Walker, Coco Jones, Ledisi, and Durand Bernarr were all also nominated.

For the first time in History 3 Hip-Hop albums were nominated for Album Of The Year: Let God Sort Em Out by Clipse, Pusha T & Malice, GNX by Kendrick Lamar and CHROMAKOPIA by Tyler, The Creator. Leon Thomas held it down for RNB with his MUTT album being nominated.
