Drake brings FOMO back: Here’s What You Missed

From new visuals and unreleased music to celebrity cameos, an Ella Langley remix, and a 2027 tour tease, Drake’s mysterious FOMO experience delivered plenty before disappearing almost as quickly as it arrived.

As we all know, Drake knows how to make people pay attention. Even after delivering Iceman—his first solo project following his highly publicized feud with Kendrick Lamar—the Toronto superstar has continued keeping fans guessing with surprise releases, visual rollouts and cryptic teases.

Now, he’s taken that formula somewhere a little different. After weeks of speculation surrounding the mysterious FOMO project, Drake finally gave fans the experience they had been waiting for. And, in true Drake fashion, there was more happening than initially met the eye.

The rapper’s hour-long Fear of Missing Out presentation blended music videos, unreleased music, celebrity appearances, past and personal moments, fashion, jewelry and a glimpse into what could be coming next. And then, just as quickly as fans were getting comfortable, the mystery returned.

So… What Exactly Was FOMO?

The speculation started in early August when Drake began teasing FOMO, leading many fans to believe another album could be on the way. The appearance of what looked like a CD cover only added fuel to the conversation.

But the day before the highly anticipated stream, Drake revealed that FOMO would actually take the form of a short film. In doing so, he gave fans something that felt less like a traditional music release and more like a multimedia experience. And it delivered.

Since releasing Iceman, Drake has already continued expanding the visual world surrounding his music. FOMO pushed that even further, providing visuals for songs that had yet to receive their own videos while introducing fans to new material along the way.

Drake, Sexyy Red & A Lot of Familiar Faces

One of the standout moments came courtesy of Sexyy Red, who appeared alongside Drake for their collaboration “Cheetah Print”. The visual also gave Drake an opportunity to channel a little Michael Jackson-inspired choreography, creating one of the moments that quickly began circulating across social media. But “Cheetah Print” wasn’t the only track getting the visual treatment.

“WNBA,” “H*e Phase,” “Classic” and “Q&A” also received new visuals during the presentation, adding another layer to Drake’s already extensive Iceman rollout. Then came a cameo that was a little closer to home. Drake’s mother, Sandi Graham, appeared in the visual for “True Bestie.”

The appearance was especially fitting considering the close relationship between Drake and his mother. Also, fans got another glimpse of the now-famous “Icemom” tattoo she has in honor of her son’s latest era.

Iron Man, War Machine & Drake’s $150,000 Shopping Trip

Because this is Drake, even an accountant questioning an expensive purchase became part of the story. During the presentation, Drake’s accountant can be heard questioning why the rapper spent approximately $150,000 on two suits. The answer? Marvel.

The two suits were revealed to be Iron Man and War Machine armor, connecting directly to the visual Drake had previously been spotted filming at a fairground. The finished video features Drake and Loe Shimmy suited up as the iconic Marvel characters for “I’m Spent,” one of the tracks from Habibti. It’s the type of unexpected visual that makes Drake’s rollouts feel less like a traditional music campaign and more like an evolving universe.

Pinkchyu Returns for “Princess”

Another familiar face popped back into Drake’s world for “Princess”. Content creator Pinkchyu, who previously won Drake’s “20 v 1” YouTube dating series and subsequently sparked dating speculation surrounding the pair, appeared alongside the rapper once again.

This time, the two hit Hot Topic for a shopping spree, with Pinkchyu giving Drake a full alternative-style makeover that matched her “goth girl” aesthetic. Another playful chapter in the ongoing visual world surrounding Drake’s latest era.

The Biggest Surprise: New Music

For many fans, however, the real prize hidden inside FOMO was the music. The presentation featured several unreleased tracks, giving listeners an early glimpse at what could potentially be arriving in the months ahead.

One preview even appeared to feature Drake’s longtime collaborator PARTYNEXTDOOR, adding another possible collaboration to the growing list of unreleased material surrounding the Toronto artist. But then Drake introduced something fans weren’t necessarily expecting.

“FOMO” Featuring Don Toliver

Drake premiered his brand-new track “FOMO” featuring Don Toliver, giving the title of the entire experience another layer of meaning. The collaboration also connects back to Drake and Toliver’s recent history. Earlier this year, Toliver brought Drake out during his Toronto show, where the pair delivered the first live performance of “Iceman.” Now, the two are back together on a completely new record. And the collaborations didn’t stop there.

Drake & Ella Langley? Yes, Really.

One of the more unexpected moments of the presentation came when Drake previewed a remix of country star Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas,” featuring Drake and Don Toliver. The collaboration feels like another example of Drake continuing to move between genres while remaining rooted in his own musical identity.

For longtime followers, it also carries some extra weight: Drake has publicly expressed his admiration for Langley, making the collaboration feel like one of those moments that fans have been waiting to see materialize.

Drake Takes Fans Down Memory Lane

One of the more interesting details hidden inside FOMO was Drake’s decision to revisit pieces of his own visual history. As “Miss My Dawgs” featuring Yeat premiered during the film, Drake took fans on a visual trip through locations that longtime followers may recognize from some of his most memorable music videos.

The concept plays almost like a visual scavenger hunt, with FOMO recreating or revisiting locations connected to different chapters of Drake’s catalog. Among some of the recognizable callbacks are:

  • “Nonstop” (2018) — bringing fans back to the Scorpion era.
  • “Toosie Slide” (2020) — revisiting the setting associated with one of Drake’s pandemic-era hits.
  • “What’s Next” (2021) — including the recognizable underwater/aquarium imagery from the video.
  • “$$$4U” (2025) — connecting FOMO to Drake’s more recent visual era.
  • “Burning Bridges” (2026) — another callback to the current chapter of his catalog.
  • “Whisper My Name” (2026) — extending the visual timeline into the present.

It’s a subtle detail, but an important one. Rather than simply showing fans where Drake is now, FOMO takes a moment to show where he’s been.

That makes the premiere of “Miss My Dawgs” feel even more intentional. The new Yeat collaboration isn’t presented in isolation. It arrives in the middle of a visual retrospective that connects Drake’s current era to years of music, videos and cultural moments that came before it.

For an artist with a catalog as visually recognizable as Drake’s, the locations become part of the storytelling. And if you weren’t paying close attention, you might have missed the trip down memory lane entirely.

And Then There Was the Jewelry

At one point, FOMO shifted from music into a showcase of Drake’s jewelry collection. Watches. Rings. Major pieces.

The rapper offered viewers a glimpse into the elaborate collection that has become part of his larger public image, adding another lifestyle element to an experience already packed with music and visuals.

But perhaps the most Drake-like part of the entire night came afterward. The video was reportedly made private on YouTube, leaving fans scrambling to figure out exactly what they had just witnessed. It wasn’t what Drake already showed, the question quickly became isn’t simply when—or if—FOMO comes back.

One More Thing: That 2027 Tour Tease

As if the new music, short film and surprise collaborations weren’t enough, Drake also teased what could become his next major live chapter: a 2027 tour announcement.

No full tour details have been confirmed yet, but the tease immediately gives fans something else to watch for. Because if there is one thing Drake has proven throughout his career, it’s that the rollout is often just as much a part of the experience as the release itself.

From Iceman to FOMO, the strategy remains familiar. Giving the audience just enough information to start talking and then leave them wondering what comes next.

For now, fans have the clips, the theories and a growing list of unreleased records to dissect. And perhaps that’s the real Fear of Missing Out experience. You either caught it live… or you’re catching up now. For a project built around Fear of Missing Out, Drake certainly understood the assignment.

FOMO Is Officially Back

After fans spent days piecing together clips and chasing down screen recordings, the full experience is finally available again. And with unreleased collaborations, new visuals, a 2027 world tour on the way and no confirmed word yet on what comes next, FOMO feels less like a standalone moment and more like another chapter in Drake’s evolving rollout.

Whether it ultimately leads to another album or simply captures where Drake’s creativity is right now, we know that he’s giving fans plenty to talk about. Now that the full film is back, what does Drake have next? For now, get rid of that FOMO and get familiar with this trailblazing talent here at Diamond Kut Media by pressing play on the short film.
