GRAMMY Award-winning artist Leon Thomas returns to carry RNB with HEEL, the deluxe edition of his critically acclaimed sophomore album, MUTT,
A natural continuation of the original, HEEL digs deeper into Leon’s life. HEEL features new collaborations from Kehlani, Big Sean, and Halle helping to elevate the project’s emotional and musical scope. Throughout the album reflects on being a single man chasing women (which is why the albums name is appropriately titled MUTT), connection, and self-exposure.
With HEEL Leon Thomas continues to push modern RNB forward and kill the myth the genre is doing out or dead. The album has already amassed 1.1 billion streams. The album’s title track originally entered the Billboard Hot 100 in February 2025 and is steadily climbing, recently jumping from #15 to #13 – marking Leon’s first Top 40 hit and his debut entry on the Hot 100. The track also reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Songschart, as well as the R&B Digital Song Salesand R&B Streaming Songs charts.
There should be no surprise that Leon Thomas is getting nominated for several awards as MUTT & it’s deluxe will stand out above the best albums of the year regardless of the genre.
