Buffalo’s Westside Gunn has etched a unique lane for himself in rap. Not only is he a rapper, he’s also the creative mind behind the Griselda collective. Each Westside Gunn album is unique listening experience. This time around Westside Gunn calls on Stove God Cooks and others for new project “12”.
“12”, is an eleven track project that stands out as one of the year’s better releases. “12” doesn’t stray too far from the Griselda formula. The tape is filled with dope beats and lyrics that make you run the song back before it’s even finished. That is displayed on “OUTLANDER”. This track shows Westside Gunn has one of the best ears in the business when it comes to making beats and the visual is fire.
“ADAM PAGE”,”GUMBO YAYA” & “HEALTH SCIENCE” are some of my favorites songs off of “12”.
Stove God Cooks stole the show on “12” showing strong efforts throughout the project. In particular, he has X (Twitter) going crazy.
Overall “12” is yet another good release from Westside Gunn. While I wasn’t a fan of every single track on “12”, the album is solid.OUTLANDER is my favorite song on the tape and I have ran it back a ton since it dropped.
