GROOVY Fuses Jersey Club & R&B on ‘Crying In The Club’ EP + “Mariah” ft. Kanii video

Union, New Jersey’s own GROOVY is bringing all the moody, sultry, and mysterious vibes with his unique fusion of Jersey club and R&B, which he’s coined “luv club,” on his new EP Crying In The Club! GROOVY refines his genre of “luv club” as he explores the highs, lows, and complications of young love. Growing up on Jersey club and R&B, thanks to his dad who was a popular DJ in the club scene in Jersey, he prides himself on being an R&B singer who can deliver smooth vocals on five-beat pattern instrumentals.

GROOVY sonically meshes silky melodies with lush instrumentals on tracks like the MCVERTT-produced “wanna kno” and the project’s opener “SHOWMELUV” which references the iconic Robin S. – “Show Me Love.” It also features the viral “jersey luv” ft. B Jack$ and the recent “Kno Me” as well as additional appearances from Vayda and rising sexy drill artist R2R Moe. According to GROOVY himself, his genre of “luv club” is designed for the late night drives home from the club with a lover right after the club’s frenetic peak hours.

Along with the EP, he also shares the video for the new single “Mariah” ft. the DMV’s own Kanii.

Produced by GROOVY’s frequent collaborator Alejandro, “Mariah” is an ethereal, room-enveloping ballad that layers hyperactive percussion under gauzy synth pads. In the video, the two rising stars make their way to barren paths and dirt roads to sing away their sorrows about the allure and eventual danger that accompanies falling “in love with a liar.”
