Atlanta-based artists Kenarri & Lil Daink recently released their surprise joint EP, “Ascension.” This 2-track project easily nails the landing of showcasing the dynamic chemistry between both artists.
Even though the pair has a long history together, “Ascension” marks their official release together. It was a long wait for it to happen but the collab was surely well worth the wait.
Off the bat, it’s worth noting that “Ascension” is entirely produced by rising producer, Timbu. His production felt like it put a battery in the back of both of these artists. It’s almost as if the production challenges them to musically think out of the box.
Believe me when I say there’s something special about the lead single, “High By Myself.” I just can’t seem to get past the way they go back and forth riding this spacey-ass beat. I’m stating all facts when I say this track has one of the most unreal flows that we’ve heard this year. I’ve always been a sucker for collab projects and I’m satisfied that “Ascension” gave me what I was looking for. There’s no ceiling to both Kenarri & Lil Daink’s success if they continue to ride this high.
