Black-Owned Entrepreneurial Power-Couple, Karim Butler and Alexis Major’s GUMBO Brand Is Shifting Cannabis Culture By Creating A Space For Black & Brown People.

GUMBO Brands is a revolutionary new cannabis and lifestyle company, founded by the Black-owned entrepreneurial power-couple, Karim Butler and Alexis Major. Their blended family of four children and the family bond they have built, is the strength of their success.

Gumbo Brands’ major focus is making a difference, building wealth, and sharing knowledge within the Black and Brown communities via their give-back initiatives and alliances within sports and entertainment.

Gumbo has exploded the past few years with a brand expansion into the media world (Drink Champs) and collabs with major artists such as Meek Mill, Big Meech, NORE, Dave East, Fabolous, and others who have partnered with the multi-million dollar company .

The co-Founder, Karim Butler AKA “Hustle Man”, hails from Bronx and learned his entrepreneurial hustle watching his grandparents, who founded the Harlem Vendors Association.

Prior to Gumbo, Karim’s career involved working with top New York City rappers to create dual ways of income (whether with a clothing line or other successful ventures). Hustle Man’s desire to make other people’s life easier has been his passion, but now it’s his time!

within the organization.

Black ownership accounts for only 4.3 percent of all cannabis businesses. This couple is breaking down that barrier by bringing more people in the community into the cannabis business and giving them the resources and career opportunities to succeed.

Examples include: brand partnerships with Cookies & it’s Thailand Store launch – and partnerships with Rap Snacks, and entertainers like Gervonta Tank Davis, Kodak Black, Moneybagg Yo and more; along with new radio show now on Hot97 + major 420 festival!

GUMBO Brands is utilizing creative cultural initiatives in this space to encourage entrepreneurship while also supporting racial justice outcomes and inclusion.

One example of this is working with recently released inmates from prison to gain licenses, who oftentimes don’t have the financial means or proper information to secure one.

Gumbo is currently a leading brand in the cannabis space and sold at top dispensaries across the nation, and on its way to global expansion. The brand’s products include flowers, G-pens, exclusive merch, and lifestyle products.

With the Gumbo partnership just announced with Cookies, the brand will have
access to 22 states and 15 countries as the Cookies global cannabis takeover grows within legalized areas of the world.

Gumbo has been shifting the culture by major partnership with Cookies, along with being the first non-rapper to have partnership with RapSnacks, the cover of Rolling Out magazine, along with having a show called Gumbo Studios w/Hot97 partnership, partnerships with sports athlete Gervonta Davis, and rappers Moneybagg Yo, Kodak Black and more. Gumbo Brands is the most unique lifestyle and cannabis brand in the world.

With Cannabis becoming legal and more easily accessible across the country, it’s good to see a black owned cannabis company doing their thing and it is important that we support this and other black owned cannabis brands in the future.
