Metro Boomin Brings The Heat This Winter With “HEROES AND VILLAINS”
As a wonderful holiday surprise, Metro Boomin has dropped an early Christmas present for everyone’s playlist with “HEROES AND VILLAINS”. He’s assembled an A-team of features including John Legend, Chris Brown, Don Toliver, 21 Savage, Nudy, Future, Thugger, ASAP Rocky and our beloved Takeoff and cooks up the most complex production that I ever heard for a trap album.
He was able to link back with actor Morgan Freeman as he narrated the album and even got actor LaKeith Stanfield to appear in the accompanying film preview. We got club bangers from Travis Scott, a haunted rendition of Mario Winans’ “I Don’t Wanna Know” with The Weeknd, and a money anthem with Gunna.
Even when he’s not up saving the music charts, Metro is out being a superhero in other ways. A few days ago, it was announced that he has created the “Single Moms Are Superheroes” initiative in partnership with The Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation to help give assistance to single mothers.
To celebrate this kickoff, Metro personally invited 26 mothers and their children to be front row of the Atlanta Falcons vs. Pittsburgh Steelers footgame from this past weekend. This initiative is also a tribute to his late mother Leslie Joanne Wayne who was fatally shot back in June. She was literally the driving force behind Metro’s success; giving credit that before fame, she would routinely drive Metro from St. Louis to Atlanta so he could produce for the upcoming Atlanta rap stars including Future and Thugger.
It might not be a comic book but Metro is definitely putting on for the heroes (and villains) in our lives. You can watch the visual for leading single “Superhero (Heroes and Villains) with Future below and make sure to check HEROES AND VILLAINS on major music platforms now.
