DJ Premier Celebrates 50 years Of Hip Hop With ‘DJ PREMIER: HIP HOP 50 VOLUME 1’ Including Features From Lil Wayne, Nas, Joey Bada$$, & More.

With Hip Hop 50 being DJ Premier’s first project since GangStarrs’, ‘One of the Best Yet’ in 2019. Premier is in full celebration for 50 years of Hip Hop. With Premier being one of Hip Hop’s most pre-eminent producers, he also tapped into a star studded list of features. The features include, Nas, Lil Wayne, Joey Bada$$, Remy Ma, Rapsody, Run The Jewels, and Slick Rick.

Additionally, DJ premier recently posted a video teasing his EP. Viewers can hear Nas rapping, “rocking with Preme is nothing short of amazing”.

It is only right that the cultures foremost architects set off Mass Appeal’s Hip Hop 50: The Soundtrack. With the goal of showcasing 50 years of Hip Hip, it seemed right for DJ Premier to establish the series of EP’s with one of the most recognizable voices in all of rap and Hip-Hop.

To help further establish 50 years of Hip-Hop, DJ Premier brings on some more of Hip-Hops most recognizable voices.

As mentioned earlier, the soundtrack is the first of a 10 part EP series. The series will consists of new music that will bring together the industry’s most highly regarded producers and artists. Individuals who have defined and are still defining the landscape of music and culture. All in celebration for 50 years of Hip Hop.

Fans can look forward to new music curated by Swizz Beatz, Mustard, The-Dream, Mike Will Made It, No I.D., Hit-Boy, Take A Daytrip and Tainy.

The entire series will be distributed via Mass Appeals new deal with Orchard. The project will help further solidify the #HipHop50 movement as it captures 50 years of culture. All while simultaneously honoring some of the latest and greatest to ever do it.

#HipHop50 is a movement for the culture. A movement that gives back to the community. A community that has made the 50 years of Hip-Hop so historic, and made it what it is today. Without the community there would be no culture, and #HipHop50 is helping give back to the community.


Platforms and Partnerships

Additionally, Mass Appeal has announced its partnership with Live Nation Urban to produce live event programming. From park jams to festival stages, this partnership will create moments that will bring together the voices that turned Hip Hop into a way of life.

In addition to park jams and festivals, a portion of #HipHop50‘s proceeds will be donated to various charitable organizations. Including, the Universal Hip Hop Museum set to open doors in 2024.

Furthermore, As the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop approaches in 2023, #HipHop50 will create once-in-a-lifetime moments featuring the iconic voices that have transcended the culture beyond the albums and EP’s.

Mass Appeal is an entertainment company dedicated to telling stories. From the perspective of those who who shape and shift culture.

For instance, The Bridge: 50 Years of Hip Hop, does just that. Hosted by Grammy-Award winning Nas and radio personality MInya “Miss Info” Oh provide a platform for these stories. Snoop Dogg, Swizz Beatz, Salt-N-Pepa and much more provide their unique stories celebrating 50 years of Hip Hop.
