Dominican Rapper Lightupp Brings The Sounds Of Detroit To The Bronx On New Track “Double It”

Lightupp is a Dominican-American rapper and producer hailing from the Bronx, New York. Lightupp is well respected in New York’s underground Hip-Hop scene for his accolades. Those accolades include: getting airplay on New York’s Hot 97 and Power 105.1 radio stations, opening up for New Jersey rapper DA$H on a multi-city east coast tour and making appearance at the Latin Grammy Awards via Empire. Although Lightupp is a prideful Bronx, New York native he has a love for Detroit’s new music scene.

The new Detroit sound is a sound that caught the attention of LightUpp and in-house producer CJ Shallow. The pair decided to try their hand at the replicating that sound with some NYC swag on Lightupp’s latest effort ” Double It”.

“Double It” is a preview of Lightupp’s forthcoming “Influence” EP. The track was met with rave reviews after Lightupp performed the track at the Delancy in Manhattan. Influence is a fitting name for the coming project, both as an homage to the outside influences which made its fruition possible, as well as Lightupp’s influence over the underground.
