New Music: AMXXR & Pete Rock Deliver ‘21 Grams: Worth Its Weight In Soul’ Mixtape (Free Download)

Amxxr (Ameer) and legendary Hip-Hop producer Pete Rock connect for one of my favorite listens thus far in 2021, ’21 Grams: Worth Its Weight In Soul”. The 21 track project is laced with soul samples and impactful lyrics. Pete Rock compares it to his classic 90’s work with C.L. Smooth.

Although the Mount Vernon, New York lyricists has been rhyming over Pete Rock production for years, after signing to Pete’s “Tru Soul Records” the duo began to develop their best material. Beginning with 21 GramsWorth Its Weight In Soul mixtape and follow-up album Dope Boy Soul—both produced entirely by Pete Rock.

It’s like a marriage with his lyrics and my beats; it is very impressive.

Pete Rock of AMXXR.

Amxxr joined the US Army at just 16 years old. After his tour, he used the GI bill to enroll at nearby Fordham University, where he earned a Bachelor in Computer Science and a Masters in Cyber Security.

In his verses, Amxxr approaches each track with the wit of a veteran all while dropping gems like the scholar he is.

As AMXXR built a name for himself and sharpened his skills, he attracted Pete’s ear.

This was a new guy who is talking about reality, without being too preachy, He’s right in the middle of everything.

In 2020, Pete Rock invited AMXXR to his Tru Soul Records label and gave him hand-selected beats for Dope Boy Soul. “Each artist that I work with I want to sound different from the next,” the legendary producer explains.

Before AMXXR’s debut, Dope Boy Soul, is released in August, fans can now download and stream the just released 21 Grams: Worth Its Weight In Soul mixtape HERE.
