The Highs & Lows Of AJ Chaka: #GT2

“The dream is real, the hustle is sold separately”, Sacramento’s very own AJ Chaka embodies this mantra so well. From the ‘mouths of babes’ , AJ began creating music at 4 years old, heavily influenced by his older cousin and legends such as Nas, Jay-Z and even Q-Tip.

These influences would later play prominent roles in his musical career spanning from 2017. In that same year, listeners turned fans as they took a liking to his incredibly intriguing sound and visuals from his debut mixtape “Story N Rock Island”.

Debuting in August of 2019 , Chaka’s “All Sides” catapulted his career, charting at his biggest song to date. His latest project ‘#GT2’ manages to leverage and even match that same momentum. The mixtape is 7 tracks long, mainly honing in on the lessons and experiences AJ has faced while hustling to bring his dreams to fruition.

The game is to be sold, not told, or exposed, is the advice that echoed in my head from my Cuzzin Money, during the creation process of #GT2. I’ve been in the game for years, had more highs than lows, skills have improved, and I’ve grown as a person… So, why not reflect that?
